Dr Sharara is the recipient of numerous prestigious awards, and is on the speaker's bureau for multiple companies. Dr Sharara is also a reviewer for Fertility and Sterility and Human Reproduction, the two leading scientific journals in the area of Reproduction, along with Journal of Assisted Reproduction and Genetics, Human Fertility, American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Journal of Obsterics and Gynecology Research, and the Middle East Fertility Society Journal. Dr Sharara has been named one of America's Who's Who in Medicine and Health Care every year from 2002 to 2009, Who's Who in America in 2004-09, America's Top Obstetricians and Gynecologists in 2007, 2008, and 2009.
Dr Sharara was also received the 2004 International Scientist of the Year award, 2004 International Health Professional of the Year award, and has been named as one of the Washington area top doctors in Infertility by the Washingtonian magazine in 2005-2008.
Dr Sharara has been a member of the Society of Assisted Reproductive Technology (SART) Practice Committe since 2007. The Practice Committe has only 10 members, and is responsible for drafting new guidelines and articles pertaining to the latest Assisted Reproductive Technologies and then submitting them for approval by the American Society of Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) Practice Committee.
